Thank you to Seth for allowing me to post more of the information and science from my article, Follow Your Heart, It’s Smarter Than You Think’ that was posted here last year. I saw that there was some immediate acceptance as well as some resounding dismissal on the science I wrote about, so I thought it would be a good idea to post just a little more of the scientific research that I also write about in my book by the same title. You can read much more about just how amazing your Heart’s intelligence is, and the limitless potential for you to access the wisdom held within, in my book. It’s on amazon in both paperbook and kindle edition.)

Here’s more of the Scientific research results for you to ponder and discuss.
Follow Your Heart, It’s Smarter Than You Think – Book excerpt:
“In an interview from a 1999 issue of JOURNAL OF FAMILY LIFE magazine, Mr. Pearce explains how this ‘heart-brain’ functions:

“The heart responds to messages sent to it from the emotional brain, which has been busy monitoring the interior environment of dynamic states such as the emotions and the auto-immune system, guiding behavior, and contributing to our sense of personal identity. The emotional brain makes a qualitative evaluation of our experience of this world and sends that information instant-by-instant down to the heart. In return, the heart exhorts the brain to make the appropriate response. Of course all of this is on the non-verbal level”. Science is confirming with substantial scientific evidence that the responses that the heart makes, affect the entire human system, and in significant ways.”

The Institute of HeartMath
“The Institute of HeartMath Research Center has been conducting research for over nineteen years and is a recognized global leader in emotional physiology, optimal function, resilience and stress-management research. The center conducts research into psycho-physiology, neuro-cardiology and biophysics, and frequently collaborates with universities, research centers and health-care-system partners. Their research has significantly advanced our understanding of heart-brain interactions, heart-rhythm coherence, and the physiology of optimal learning and performance.

The HeartMath Institute also conducts research studies to include the electro-physiology of intuition and exploring how we are all globally interconnected at a deep, fundamental level via electromagnetic fields and biofields through our Heart, which they call, “Emotional Energetics Research” and publish the following statement on their website:

“The heart produces by far the body’s most powerful rhythmic electromagnetic field, which can be detected several feet away by sensitive instruments. Research shows our heart’s field changes distinctly as we experience different emotions. It is registered in people’s brains around us and apparently is capable of affecting cells, water and DNA studied in vitro. Growing evidence also suggests energetic interactions involving the heart may underlie intuition and important aspects of human consciousness.”

There is fascinating scientific research that is revealing much more about the Heart’s functions, than previously known. These relatively recent discoveries are clearly demonstrating that our Heart plays a much more significant role in how we experience, express and relate throughout our lives. So much so, that as a whole, is strongly pointing each one of us in the direction of getting out of our left-brain analytical approach to living our lives, and getting more in touch with our true Heart’s desires, which undoubtedly will lead to living a happier and more fulfilling life. And, after all, isn’t that what Life is really supposed to be about?
