Does it matter if we participate in political elections?
In all parts of the world, if you live in a place where political elections occur, it is vitally important that you participate. This is something that has changed. Ten or twenty years ago, it mattered less that you participated. Something has shifted, and as you move through Enlightenment it is becoming more important for you participate not only in political elections, but in all the activities that affect your life.
Part of Enlightenment means that you become aware of and take accountability for the effect that everything you do has on the world. That includes taking accountability for the effect your vote your lack of vote has on the world. If you live in a democratic society, there is no way to avoid affecting the system. Ten or fifteen years ago, it was actually useful for many of you to avoid the political process.
It was useful for many of you to shift to a more spiritual perspective, to unlock your psyche from the dualistic and hurtful system that is the political system in most countries. But now, now you have come to a point as you near the year 2012, you have come to a turning point in which it no longer serves you to avoid the political system. In fact, it no longer serves you to avoid anything that you are a part of. It is now time for you to take a more powerful stance, to approach the system and your place in it, from a perspective of feeling empowered and centered in your spirituality rather than locking into or getting hooked up to the dualistic, hurtful characteristics of the system. It is vitally important that you participate, but it is also vitally important that you remain centered and empowered in your participation.
If you were to become unconscious here and hook back into the system itself energetically, you will actually not be helping yourself or anyone else. It is more important that you stay awake and aware and centered and empowered and second to that, it is important that you participate using your centered and empowered perspective.
What is the best way to participate in political elections for the average person?
Well, there is no one best way because each of you is unique and because there are several levels of participation that suit some of you and not others. If we think of those levels as a pyramid getting progressively smaller and more intense as you move up, then all of you start with the base. At the base, it is important for you to vote in political elections of the country that you are a citizen of. That basic level of participation, casting your vote, is a ritual that celebrates your voice and the unique energy you bring to and hold in this world. In the past, political systems were not the best place for you to voice that. It was not possible for you to have this kind of enlightened ritual in voting. Some people could, but many people could not. You were lost in the system.
As more and more individuals are becoming empowered in their lives and banding together and speaking for their truth, political systems are vulnerable to being changed. That vulnerability is a sacred thing because political systems are meant to be changed based the democratic and non- coercive will of citizenship. Because it is time for political systems to be changed and because they are available to be changed, it is time now for all of you moving through Enlightenment to reengage at the basic level of voting. That applies to all of you.
There is a higher level that we will call organizing and there are several levels within that. Many of you are called to participate in organizing. Organizing can mean anything from talking to your neighbors about issues that you care about, to organizing or participating in a fundraising event or some other political event, all the way up to working for a political candidate or a political party.
Within that layer of organizing, any of you are receiving this as a calling.The way you know that you are meant to be an organizer is that you feel a calling. You find that you feel uncomfortable if you do not talk to your neighbors about certain things. You find that some issue touches your heart or awakens your passion in a way that calls you to a stronger action. Just like with any calling, you can skip it, but you will not feel fulfilled in your life if you do. If you avoid the calling, you will find this continued sense of loss. The calling is there for a reason. It is unique to you and it is up to you to listen to what is calling you to do.
If you are not sure what your calling is or whether what you are feeling is really a calling, take one single step toward it and see how it goes. If you are not sure you are being called to be an organizer for a political party, try talking to your neighbors about the issue and then see how you feel after doing that. Do you feel more fulfilled than excited? Do you feel less fulfilled? It does not matter how your neighbor responds, it matters how you feel, what the energy shift is inside you after your participate in action that responds to your calling.
There is that layer of organizing where at least fifty percent, if not more of you, are being called. If you are moving through Enlightenment and you come to a greater spiritual understanding of yourself and your life, it is more likely than not you are being called to some level of organizing in the political system. If the systems really are becoming smaller than the empowerment of citizens, then that means that citizens really do need to step up and make those changes happen.
So follow that sense of a calling if it is arising inside of you. The next level up is representation. A much smaller number of you are called to be representatives in the system. That means running for political office. That smaller number will not affect many of you who are listening to or reading this channeling. But, there are people moving through Enlightenment who are being called to run for political office and it is important for you, as you move through Enlightenment, that you look for those people.
They are not always going to fall into the political party that you have typically favored. Sometimes they will; sometimes they will not. There is a true resonance of love and a true sense of integrity in some individuals. Regardless of political party, as long as their actions and words are in alignment with what you value and you can sense that spark inside them, then as a voter, it is important for you to follow that and seek to place as many people as truly seem to have integrity into the system as possible. It is important here that you not be tricked. The system is built to trick voters. Do not look for the best-looking candidate; do not look for the shiniest or the most well known candidates. Look for the quiet people who have never been involved in politics before. Look for the quiet people who seem to have really, truly responded to a calling rather than choreographed a career in politics.
Those representatives you are going to find at a smaller scale for a long time, but they will begin to show up more and more. Those are the levels at which it is important for you to participate. Within all of that, there is no one best way to do it. There are different roles to be played and each of you is called to one of those roles. So listen to your heart. Try a few things. But more than anything, in regard to political elections, consider that the Enlightenment process at this time, from 2012 onward, at this point, it is no longer served by avoiding politics.
Just like you must take accountability for the waste you generate and where your food comes from and how your energy affects the people around you, you also must take accountability for your role as a citizen. Taking accountability for the benefits you gain from your government and therefore taking responsibility for the actions you must take to participate and uphold that government. (May 2011)
