Loved the No Fear logo too when I was young, but at the same time I’ve never had any desire to call those clothes my own….

No Fear! I loved this clothing line when I was young. It was
launched in the late 80′s by a race car driver and his motorcyclist
friend. I used to go to the skate shop to buy these new threads giving
my mother anxiety over how much money she would be spending on the name
brand. Life in the privileged lane. All four of my sons seems to have a
shirt or two of this brand at the moment, although, to the life of me,
I don’t know where the clothes are coming from as malls, skate shops,
and shopping are a distant blur from a past life completed many, many
years ago. On my small island that I call home, consumerism doesn’t
exist. How can it? Our tourist season ended over a month ago and for
most people, no one has earned over $100.00us. No Fear: that’s how we
live!
In a society with no money, I do feel rich beyond measure
though. My friends came to visit from the states. One of them was
celebrating his birthday so we loaded up the party boat and headed out
for an island cruise. We weren’t ten minutes into our journey when a
pod of dolphins started to circle. They stayed with us for a half hour
or so entertaining everyone, after all, a dolphin sighting is still
high magic. When they were ready to depart, four of the dolphins
synchronized a jump out of the water as if to say, “happy birthday”!
Later, our fisherman caught a lovely huge tuna. Tuna is not a daily
catch but an exception… tuna tar-tar, tuna sushi and tuna salad. I
love tuna and I guess, in all honesty, I am still living the privileged
life, with no money to speak of.
Tropical depression/storm
Matthew recently passed through our waters. Again, for the second time
this year, the masses fled in panic, in fear. Meanwhile, I had the most
beautiful days of my life on this island. With not a tourist to be
found and with so many locals missing, I had a tropical island in the
Caribbean to myself where the cloud formations, the sea, the trees and
all nature danced to my tune. As if Spirit wanted to confirm that I had
made a good decision to stay at home, a magnificent rainbow adorned
the sky and I happily swam under the colours.
I was accused of
coming from fear in my last article… I have lived my entire existence
in and for the light, this has required that I live on the abyss at
times, jumping into the unknown without fear of results, speaking my
truth without fear of repercussions. I know of no other way to be. At
this time, the mists are parting which is making everyone so nervous,
fearful. Systems are crashing, money is disappearing, ecological
systems are failing. There is an impending doom that no one can quite
explain but deep instinct has all of us on hyper-alert. I know that is
why everyone in my neck of the woods fled for a tropical depression;
fear, fear, fear is everywhere. And yet, I can’t help but feel what is
there to fear?
As each day of my life becomes more gorgeous than
the next…I understand the game plan, or better said, the lack of it.
*Live in the moment- that’s all we have! *Make sure your instincts are
razor sharp- you will need them, honor them! *Have impeccability-
nothing less will do! *Communicate without words, learn to read the
energy- it’s crucial! *And have fun, this is a game, remember, all one
must do is play! I guess I am in the new world, it just took a moment
to catch my bearings…
