Commerce needn’t be all bad…..

I know, it's advertizing, but just forget the sales pitch and look at what's being presented. Is this the way I'm going to walk when I'm old, instead of with crutches? Deal me in!

Learn the art of persistence

In last week's newsletter, I shared the video of a young man who mastered the art of riding a bicycle just about anywhere - over the tops of fences or on bridge railings. It was an amazing example of mastery and it reminded me of a prior newsletter I'd written about squirrels and the genius of persistence. If you need a little motivation to stay true to a dream or goal, or to master something new, you might want to take a page from squirrels.

Outside my office window I have two bird feeders that attract all kinds of birds. One is designed for small birds like yellow finches, and the other is for larger birds like cardinals and blue jays. The feeders also attract squirrels. In the past, before they invented squirrel-proof cages, I had an interesting time trying to keep them from cleaning us out of food.

The first time I saw a squirrel climb the pole to the feeder and eat to its heart's content, I knocked on the window to scare him away only to find him back two minutes later having a feast. Then, I came up with what I thought was an ingenious solution. I greased the bird feeder pole with cooking oil and the next time a squirrel tried to climb the pole, I smiled to myself as he gently slid to the ground. After three or four attempts, he scampered away, but of course, came back with a vengeance and quickly figured out how to climb the pole!

Squirrels are very persistent little creatures. They do whatever it takes to achieve their goal. When squirrel-proof cages finally became available, I was sure this new device would do the trick. And it did for several weeks. Time and again I'd watch the squirrel climb up to the feeder, try every which way to get at the food, and when he couldn't succeed, run off to a new yard. Then, one morning, as I sat in my office watching the birds, a squirrel ran to the pole, climbed to the top of the protected feeder, hung upside down above it, and gingerly shook the feeder until birdseed fell to the ground. Once he served himself enough food, he ran down the pole and sat below the feeder to enjoy his meal. That's when I decided that if he was that persistent (and clever), he deserved the darn food!

There are times in life when we set our sights on something that's deeply important to us yet, when we hit roadblocks, setbacks, or failure, we make a premature decision to give up. The message this week is simple - if you know in your heart that your goal is right, be persistent. Hang in there and be willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen. If one approach doesn't work, circle around the situation, and look for a new way of achieving your goal. To help you gain a fresh perspective, try this:

1. Imagine that you've already achieved the goal. Then, look back from this perspective and notice what you did. Don't over think your answers, just write down whatever comes to mind. You're looking for strategies or ideas that may not have occurred to you yet.

2. Imagine that you're just one step away from achieving success. From this perspective, ask yourself, "What one word best describes the step I need to take next?" Trust your subconscious to give you an answer and again, write down what comes to mind.

When I used this exercise with a friend who was ready to quit nursing school, the word that occurred to her was "tutor." When we explored this word further, she admitted that there was one class, in particular, that made her feel anxious and inadequate. This exercise helped her to see that she needed help to get through the class.

3. If someone offered you a thousand dollars to take three outrageous steps toward your goal, what three steps would you take? Again, don't over think or censor your answers. Just notice what comes to mind and write it down. Even though your answers may seem unrealistic, I've found that when clients answer this question, they often come up with ways to try a new approach.

Of course there are times when quitting is the right thing to do, but before you give up, make sure you discuss your situation with someone who believes in you. Do they see something you don't? Is there a step they suggest you take before you quit?

Finally, make sure that you're not giving up out of fear or frustration. It's not uncommon to be faced with the greatest challenges at the point when we're about to reach the finish line. Send yourself a free e-self-care card with the message "Hang in There" from here and let it remind you to do what it takes to stay true to your soul's desire.

Take Action Challenge

This week, use the steps above to find a new approach before letting go of a goal or dream. Find someone you can talk to about what's going on so you have an objective perspective on what's next. Then try take a new action and watch for signs that you're on the right track!

This week's video was sent to me by Shana. I love animal videos. Take a look at how much fun this orangutan is having! Thanks, Shana...

What if?

artist unknown
what if....
what if i told you
that all that you see here
in this dimension of creation
is not real...
what if i told you
that all that you see that
can bring you an awareness of form...

all that arises and passes away
(form)
is an illusion...
and yet...oh dear one
look within and behind all things
and what "is real" will be revealed to you...
that which "brings all form forth"
is what alone is real...
eons ago i walked this your beloved planet earth
and spoke words....words that were often changed
yet the meaning behind them can never be lost...
how could love...true knowledge..
 ever be lost...
so...that being said
allow me to give you my final teaching...
"there is nothing outside of you"
and you are but love...
that must mean that all that is arising
and passing away
is so embraced in the arms of love
that all of it is perfectly okay...
what does exist here
is the "presence of love"
to see all within the "singular eye"
which is the eye of the heart
will open up your pineal gland
which will in turn slowly reveal the
real world to you
right here...right now...
there is no other...dear one
there is only ~one ~  here...
in your now moments ...in your personal movie screen..
your personal universe
the one in front of you is you...
yes...yes...many aspects of you come and go
as you...you change your level of light
by your allowance of love...
today one may be there....simply bring your love
to that one...
tomorrow that one may leave...seemingly leave your field
of awareness dear one...
yet never can they leave your heart
which in truth is the only reality there is...
bring your love to that moment also...
...
love that too...
for you see dear one...
you are only loving yourself
coming and going..
it is all you...
~love does not "attach itself" to anything~
that belief that love can be owned
has brought you so many now moments
of feeling unloved...is this not so???
so...whose "game" must that belief
belong to????         hmmmmm...
love is the power that births all things
and exists within all things...
love allows all "to be free to be"
thus dear one
you will now understand my meaning
of
"love the one you are with"...
that one could be reflecting
something deep within you
that is in need of your embrace
and love...
that one could be there simply
to bring you comfort and compassion...
they are all you...
I AM the voice of love
that lives within all of you
and I AM the truth of who you are...
what other "master" could you possibly seek
for you see dear one
to seek is the most cunning game of the little self..
it keeps you out there searching...looking
seeking...
it knows
that all along
you have never left this voice
and all that is needed
is for you to find
Me/You again...
for you see
you never left...
that is the biggest
illusion of all...!!!!
i await your knock...
i await your remembrance of me..
 love is patient...
love allows all things
trusts all tings
transcends all things...
i see only that which YOU ARE...
i await you to discover that again
in union with me...
come within dear one...............there is no where else
to go....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~the voice of love ~
i am simply a vehicle thru which love can extend itself...feel free to pass
these along...simply be sure to keep my email address available.
if your heart has been touched this day...extend the embrace to another...
together as one heart we lift the whole of creation with each loving thought..
each loving gesture...each smile...each embrace...

No use fighting

It's not that I've given up, far from it. It's just that it feels futile in the sense that I could fight it till Kingdom come, but then that's just what is happening, right? Kingdom comes, not in the sense that we're getting another absolute ruler, but rather in the sense that we're becoming the absolute ruler. And a ruler, especially an absolute one, needs to know when enough is enough. So yesterday I rigorously rewrote my diet, switched to stuff like fruit and yoghurt instead of my more 'normal' diet. I full well know that it might be a shock to my systems, but it feels like enough is enough.

Never mind what my ex says, she's still very much into the mass consciousness at sheeple level, or so it seems. No offense, but in these matters, nobody is more qualified than me, because I'm hardwired to this body that I've known for well over 47 years now. And I say it's time!

Likewise the occasional dry spells at moorelife.nl. Seems like channeling land is all working on other things most of the time, because my supply lines are regularly drying up, leaving me the choice of going to find more, writing more myself, or just calling it enough is enough. None of these is better than the other, all is as it should be. So now I'm writing, and telling you to 'Just do It!' like Nike popularized it all these years ago.

Yes, I am writing, writing like crazy. And it feels like the One Thing To Do. Not sure yet if I'm sculpting, unveiling, or just making my mind go overtime fantasizing, but what's the difference? It's all good anyway, and that's immensely how it feels. With Dear Denisa and others cheering me on, how could I not feel like a million doing this? 212 pages and counting, so look out Half Blodd Prince! J.K Rowling had her moment in the spotlight, but without undue proudness I can safely say that this feels like the most awesome thing I've ever done, whether anyone ever likes it or not!

Off to work in half an hour, and you'd think that my willingness to work would be far gone with a pet project like that. Nothing is more beside the point! I cherish the day of work, with it's machine-driven forced contemplation moments, that have me drifting right back into Make It Real again. By nightfall there will no doubt be plenty of ideas to mold into adventures for Sander and Seda and their friends. Thank you also for guys like Tinus, a boy who is a friend of my daughters, and who has remarkable deep insights into the workings of Life. We volley with the concepts of the story every now and then, and I've even written him in, not as a personal favor, but simply 'because it feels right'.

My bicycle has been retuned again, and with its chain tensioned and the gears readjusted he runs like a million. I guess I owed him that for years of faithful service. All part of the master plan, which is unfolding at a rapid pace as far as I'm concerned. No need to fret, fear, or fumble the ball, this game is rapidly gaining terrain, and the endzone is approaching fast. Not even time to worry about the angry mob of broad shouldered jocks trying to pull me down, because I'm way ahead of them, and that ain't bragging (but just honest observation).  Touchdown coming up!

John's Mum said it: "The future is nothing but what we make of it!.....", and she was right. And if we all make our future the very best that we can possibly envision it, then our collective one has no other option than to follow suit, and be brilliant also! Just keep in mind to not willingly go against one another, and nothing and no one will be able to stop us. Sure, others may want you to do something, but since you're the one to do it, your voice in the matter weighs that much more. Just remember that it's a rigged game, rigged for your profit. It invariably pays out more quarters than you put into it.......

Love your Liberated Light,

Dre'
